Addiction Treatment

At Steps Together Group, we treat addiction as a complex, deeply personal condition, not simply a behaviour to be stopped. Our programmes are designed to stabilise, understand, and address the underlying causes driving substance use or compulsive behaviours.

Understanding Addiction

Addiction is not always obvious. It often develops gradually, affecting how a person thinks, feels, and functions day to day.

It may present as a growing reliance on substances or behaviours to cope, difficulty cutting back, or a sense of losing control despite negative consequences. For many, it is accompanied by changes in mood, relationships, work, or overall wellbeing.

If something no longer feels manageable, or is starting to impact daily life, it may be time to seek support.

Our Approach

Our model at Steps Together combines clinical expertise with therapeutic depth.

Initial Assessment

A free comprehensive initial assessment

Medically Supported Detox

Clinical supervision ensuring safety and comfort throughout the withdrawal process.

One-to-one Therapy with Experienced Counsellors

Personalized sessions tailored to address your unique recovery narrative.

Structured group therapy

Facilitated sessions providing peer support and shared healing experiences.

Trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches

Clinical methodologies grounded in thelatest psychological research and trauma sensitivity.

Integrated mental health support throughout

Holistic care addressing psychological well-being alongside physical recovery.

We incorporate recognised frameworks such as the 12-Step model, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and SMART Recovery, allowing treatment to be adapted to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

This integrated model enables us to address both the behavioural patterns and the underlying psychological drivers of addiction, supporting meaningful, lasting change.

We focus not only on stopping harmful patterns, but on understanding why they developed, and what needs to change to sustain recovery.

Residential & Outpatient Treatment

We offer different levels of support depending on individual needs, circumstances, and clinical recommendations. Our team will guide you toward the most appropriate pathway.

Residential Treatment

A fully immersive environment with 24/7 clinical and therapeutic support. Often recommended for individuals requiring stabilisation, detox, or a more intensive level of care away from everyday triggers.

Non-Residential Treatment

Structured support while continuing to live at home and maintain personal or professional commitments. Suitable for those with a stable environment, or as a step-down from residential care.

Both pathways are available with varying levels of intensity.

Step-Down & Secondary Care (Elizabeth House)

For individuals who have completed residential addiction treatment and require continued structured support, Elizabeth House bridges the transition between residential treatment and independent living.

Foundation building

Strengthen recovery foundations before returning to independent life

Confidence & Independence

Gradual rebuilding of daily skills and personal responsibility

Relapse prevention

Structured support to reduce risk during the vulnerable early recovery period

Continued therapy

Ongoing therapeutic engagement and clinical oversight
