Lucy Smith
Whatever your next steps are, I can offer support as you seek to develop your health, strength and wellbeing. I am a creative practitioner and I will support you to find creative approaches to life, relationships, and any challenges that you may be facing at this time.
I have a wealth of experience over 24years working with children, young people, adults and families who are in distress, or are in a process of recovery and healing. I have specialist skills in trauma, grief and sexual abuse, and how these impact life and relationships.
I am a somatic practitioner who focuses on body mind spirit in all my therapy practice. I am a performer, artist, director, and teacher of drama and theatre as well as being a therapist and bring all these skills into my work.
Some of the options that I offer are included here:-
Dramatherapy groups for adults who want to use creativity as part of their healing process.
We choose a story or theme to work on together and may use dreams, myths, and fairy tales as a way to work with imagination and creativity. This is a practice that works with personal issues within a group where the group create a peer support system for each other in the process.
Creative Arts Group where the focus is finding the creative passions of everyone in the group, e.g. song writing, creative writing, dance, music, storytelling.
Discovering your creative talents can be a significant avenue for personal expression, reflection on emotional and relationship issues. Once you have started it can become a practice to continue for self-esteem, authentic insights and connection.
Ritual Performance for individuals or groups. You are invited to create a ritual performance based on one aspect of your life where you are seeking to mark a change.
We work together to define the change, how you are going to work towards it, and who will be your support system for this change. You plan and devise a ritual using creative materials, indoors or outdoors, where you are witnessed by other group members in a special performance that marks the change. You bring all of yourself into this process including your spirituality, language, culture
