Kaizad Johnston
I am an addiction counsellor with a degree in drug & alcohol counselling with a wealth of experience in the addiction field. Drawing from my own personal experience as a recovering addict in a 12 Step fellowship, as well being trained in various recovery modalities including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have gained a lot of experience in working with dual diagnosis (co morbid mental health & addiction) clients using an eclectic approach drawing from a range of psycho therapeutic modalities. My purpose in this field is to alleviate suffering that ensues from addiction as well as working towards positive psychological wellbeing, using a person centred compassionate approach. I am also a Mindfulness teacher that can design a bespoke mindfulness programme that promotes wellbeing, whilst working towards developing insight into problems that hold one back from living life in harmony with oneself and others, as well as helping people to learn how to access their own full potential as a human being.
