Growing up as a child of the 90’s under the bright lights of London, like many young men I was not immune to the crazy world of party drugs and alcohol misuse. I watched a crazy upsurge in addiction amongst many friends, families, my community and my colleagues. Now in long term recovery myself for over 20 years, I know only too well the misery, pain and destruction that addiction caused for myself and my own family.
In 2016, I decided the time was right for me to create my lives dream and set up my own Private addiction services.
Immersed for over 20 years in a community of addiction treatment and fellowship, I learned more and more about this disease, effective treatment programmes and therapy and during this time I have stood alongside many families and addicts full of fear, anxiety and pain. I have heard first hand the overwhelming sense of powerlessness, emotional guilt, poor physical health and feelings of worthless under the shadow and shame of addiction.
So, in 2017, I fulfilled my personal ambition and opened my own rehabilitation centre, Bank House in Nottinghamshire. After two successful years, supporting over 400 clients each year, in 2019, we opened The Chestnuts in Leicestershire and as Steps Together grows and adopts more centres, we will continue to change many people’s lives and secure freedom from addiction.
Today I stand proud and realising what we have achieved at Steps Together so far. I am blessed to be surrounded by the most dedicated, passionate and inspiring staff, and I am even more blessed to be an active part of the amazing work my colleagues do every day to support our clients to achieve their own recovery from this disease and watch as their family lives are re-built – Freedom for everyone!
Our company values are key to this, and for me our greatest strength is our ability to all walk alongside our colleagues, our clients and their families during a difficult journey to full recovery. We really are Stronger Together and at Steps Together, our unity is our strength.
